Employment

Since its inception in 1968, Lawyers for Civil Rights has advanced life-changing and law-changing advocacy on behalf of individuals who experience workplace discrimination and harassment. Systemic discrimination in hiring, pay, promotion, and termination disadvantages people of color and immigrants in the public and private sectors. We challenge all forms of discrimination and advocate for an expansion of workplace protections.

In response to #MeToo and #YoTambién, LCR is also bringing creative litigation to ensure that low-wage workers see themselves reflected in the movement against workplace sexual harassment.

In response to the rapid growth of e-commerce in the digital age, LCR is ensuring that internet giants such as Airbnb and Amazon are upholding federal and state anti-discrimination laws.

LCR also focuses on cutting-edge litigation and policy advocacy to enhance diversity in the hiring and retention practices of public safety agencies, including police and fire departments.
